The term &quot;pairing&quot; as we are using it could apply to either type of text connection, but in this context we are referring to two versions of the same text, which I have not run across with other texts. The two versions are different enough for you to use one text to scaffold learning from the other, as opposed to building background in traditional ways. We feel like this can help address the &quot;knowledge in the disciplines&quot; challenges of the Common Core, while building independence. It seems an interesting opportunity. Certainly, we would add other related texts in all kinds of formats and instructional contexts.</description>
